BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

GJJ

After years of study, it became more obvious that traditional karate styles tended to emphasize standing combat. The fact is that the majority of hostile situations wind up on the ground at some point. For this reason, we teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This particular style of ground fighting is based on the style developed and popularized by the Gracie Family of Brazil. It has a strong foundation in traditional freestyle wrestling, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, and submission techniques.

Our BJJ program allows adult students to specialize in the high-energy, heavy contact discipline of grappling. Practitioners learn to using both “gi” and “no-gi” methods as well Vale Tudo and NHB rules. The fact that many of our students are in law-enforcement attests to the practicality and effectiveness of the techniques covered in this program.
